ART AND COMMITMENT: DEADLOCK OR POSSIBILITY? Aperitif conference #2

    Category:

With Pierre-Olivier Rollin, director of BPS22.

The 20th century modified relationships between art and politics. Political activism, agitprop, happenings and sociological art redefined the issues at stake and the ways in which artists could get politically involved. But how pertinent was it all? Does politically involved art have real meaning or is it just about attitude or deception? In parallel with the exhibition US OR CHAOS the conference gives us a brief overview of practices and puts forward possible answers.
