There are a multitude of dialogues between dance and the visual arts and collaborations between choreographers and visual artists have led to major works since the beginning of the 20th century. The conference addresses the intersection between these disciplines, with a particular interest in the evolution of the exchanges between them. Since the 1970s, contemporary dance has become very focused on experimentation in contemporary art and visual artists have brought the movement into the field of visual arts through performances. These days, we go even further, visual artists create choreographies and dancers occupy museums.
