Urban Connections I & IIWorks of the collection of the Hainaut Province

In 2007, the Domaine départemental de Chamarande en Essonne (France) invited the BPS22 to an exchange of collections, thus capitalizing on the mutual valorisation of both exhibition spaces and their artists.

In the first part of this collaboration, Urban Connections I presented a selection of around twenty works of the collection of the Hainaut Province in the magnificent setting of the Chateau and Domaine de Chamarande. The selected works testified at various levels of the superimposition of cultural identities, the impact of globalization on the transformation of landscapes, historic challenges, social and cultural combats that the city - and more widely "the urban milieu" - crystallizes.

In the continuity of this exhibition, the Domaine départemental de Chamarande invited a few artists of the Hainaut Province collection to produce new works, thus offering a remixed proposition of the first exhibition under the title Urban Connections II. The next Fall, the BPS22 welcomed works from the FDAC Essonne collection within the framework of the Accords Excentriques exhibition.
