At home: contemporary art and housing

The encounter echoes the ​“Dedans et Dehors… !?” [Indoors and Outdoors] exhibition at the BPS22 Little Museum and the period of lockdown enforced by the Coronavirus. It will discuss our rela­tion­ship with the domestic sphere, the indoors, our private space, residence or home through many con­tem­po­rary works, raising both personal and collective concerns. Inspired by the work of Mona Chollet, the lecture invites us to question the rela­tion­ship between the house as a place of protection, well-being and refuge, but also of withdrawal into oneself, and even confinement, simul­ta­ne­ous­ly alluding to the social disparities this involves.
