When it comes down to it, it’s very pragmaticThe collections of the BPS22, Space Collection and IKOB enter into dialogue

  • Hors-les-murs
31.10.2018-13.01.2019

Starting out from the philosophy of pragmatism according to which truth is that which works, IKOB, the SPACE collection and the BPS22 are bringing together their collections for this exhibition. In a tense political and cultural climate, cultural institutions are often forced into cobbling things together, adapting themselves and choosing actions so that they can continue their missions. In these situations, the pragmatism they need to demonstrate is seen as a survival strategy in art and as a path of resistance. If the works in the three collections enter into dialogue from a conceptual, stylistic and/or trivial point of view, it is above all the pragmatism linked to the constraints of the exhibition which, out of a desire to be efficient, determine this.
