ALAIN SÉCHAS AND JULIETTE VANWATERLOO

Vernissage Adults Families
  • 27.09.2024 19:00 - 23:00

From 28 September 2024 to 5 January 2025, BPS22 will be exhibiting the sculptures, paintings, and drawings of Alain Séchas in the Grande Halle and the Salle Pierre Dupont. Alongside this multifaceted exhibition, textile artist Juliette Vanwaterloo will be showcasing embroideries and tapestries in the museum’s Mezzanine. Discover these two new artistic offerings in an exclusive preview at the vernissage on 27 September, from 7:00 p.m.

With pieces ranging from his first steps in the art world in the 1980s to his most recent unpublished creations, Alain Séchas (FR, 1955) presents I never get bored…, a broad overview of his myriad works (works on paper, paintings, posters, sculptures and other large installations reinstalled especially for the exhibition), which all have their roots in drawing.

In Burn it all down, an activist artist considering feminist, ecological, and decolonial issues, Juliette Vanwaterloo (FR, 1998) creates embroideries, lace, tapestries, and textiles installations denouncing police violence.
