#WINDOWMUSEUMWORKS SHOWCASED AT THE BPS22

08.05.2020-16.08.2020

The BPS22, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec [Quebec Council of Arts and Letters] (CALQ) and the Bang Centre have appointed the artists in residence who will be welcomed in Spring 2021.

Magali Baribeau-Marchand (Alma, 1984) is a Quebecois artist who will move to the BPS22 studio for three months. For its part, the Bang Centre in Chicoutimi, Quebec will welcome Pauline Debrichy (Sambreville, 1989).

Before flying off to their temporary places of residence, the two young artists are working on a joint photographic initiative, an early meeting via #windowmuseum: where Magali gathers, gleans and selects, Pauline roams, scans and assembles.

#windowmuseum is a platform intended to encourage, produce or bring together practical artistic projects. For the BPS22, independent curator and visual artist Lola Meotti brings together future residential artists in an installation showing images of their work. The photos are affixed to the external windows of the BPS22 façade. By displaying their work, we want to engage in a symbolic collaboration, an early meeting. While the scale of their work is different, their artistic approaches are remarkably similar. They both work with territory and popular culture, literally finding inspiration in the environment that embraces them on their quests.
